One new intern at the RSH likes the school. He’s doing a one-month orientation internship for becoming a teacher. It’s his second week, and he says: “this school has a better level than other schools that I’ve been to and other schools in Bielefeld.”
He wishes to become an English and biology teacher, because he likes to work with young people and explains things well. “And I want to explain things better than my teachers back then.”
Furthermore, he says, “it makes me happy to see when people have ‘aha moments’…when it brings something to their personal development.”
“I chose this school, because it’s not so far away, and because I wanted to get to know the Sek I.”
The students have treated him nicely since he’s arrived. In the beginning, it was hard to get adjusted to the daily routine and meeting everyone.
He has fun in classes now.
“Sadly, I haven’t worked yet with students who have special needs,” but he still has almost a month.
He says, he wants students to have less or no homework. For that, they should have some longer school days. For now, he’ll just watch.
